About the Founder
Paul Ponte
Paul J. Ponte brings almost 30 years of financial and operations management as well as multi-faceted business experience within diverse industries including real estate development and property management, financial services, consumer products, pharmaceutical, health and beauty, and technology. Mr. Ponte is a results-oriented professional with a talent for proactively identifying and resolving business and financial issues, controlling costs, automating processes, maximizing productivity, and delivering increased profits.
Mr. Ponte has extensive experience in developing and operating affordable multi-family communities; ranging from subsidized housing to affordable conventional properties. Mr. Ponte is the Co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Triumph Housing Management (Triumph). During his tenure that started in 2011, he successfully led the company to become one of the fastest-growing management companies in the affordable housing industry; with close 10,000 units under management spanning over 23 states.
Prior to forming Triumph, Mr. Ponte was the President and Chief Operating Officer for Housing Systems, Inc. and HSI Management, Inc. During his tenure at HSI, the company closed on several multi-million-dollar real estate transactions and significantly increased its third-party management business. In addition, Mr. Ponte was instrumental in turning around the management operation to the point that HSI Management was recognized by Georgia HAP Administrators, Inc. as the “Best Management Company” for 2009-2010. The award states, “In recognition and appreciation of your outstanding efforts in providing superior affordable housing.”
Prior to HSI, Mr. Ponte was the Chief Financial Officer for an Atlanta-based middle-market technology company as well as a Vice President and Finance Director for Citizens Financial Group. He also held various financial analysis and management positions with several multi-billion-dollar companies including Ocean Spray Cranberries, CVS, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Clairol, and Ernst &Young.
As the consummate entrepreneur, Mr. Ponte founded Affordable Housing Advisory Services and as its Managing Director, provides asset management, real estate development, consulting, and operating support for clients that own subsidized multifamily apartments throughout the United States.
Mr. Ponte currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for PHASE, Inc., which was formed not only to acquire and develop affordable housing communities but also to expand and enhance affordable housing services for its residents throughout the Midwest and Southeast.
Mr. Ponte also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for King’s Treasure Box Ministries which provides support for children and adults who have been affected by child sexual abuse and trafficking.
Finally, Mr. Ponte serves as a member and/or officer of several other Boards of Directors of not-for-profit corporations that provide affordable housing for families and seniors throughout the country.
A native of Rhode Island, Mr. Ponte is a former CPA and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
